Healing Meditation Techniques and Exercises
For many of us, our fast-paced lifestyles laden with stress and fast-food diets have left us suffering from depression, diseases and disorders. As a quick fix, most go to the doctor and get a pill for our problems. However, our bodies were not built to handle so much medication. Alternatively, meditation can calm our minds and, over time, will cause us to change our diets and the choices we make every day. This result is less disease and much more energy.
Visualize Healing Energy
Visualization is a major component of meditation. When you start to visualize something and you imagine it happening, it is more likely to occur. One visualization exercise is focusing on exhaling all of your negativity and inhaling pure positive energy. When you breathe in, imagine that pure angelic white light is filling your lungs and purging all that is negative inside. When you exhale, imagine you are breathing out a thick black cloud of all of your negativity and things that are causing you trouble. Imagine that the white light that you are breathing in has the most pleasant smell in the world, and what you are breathing out is the most vile. Do this for at least 15 minutes.
Imagine a time in your life when you felt the most joy; a really high point in your life where you felt on top of the world. Focus on this event. Relive it. Remember the sights, sounds and scents. Meditate on this experience. Feel that you are this experience and every cell in your body radiates with love and joy. You no longer have a body, and your self has dissolved into this joy. This moment is infinite and will last forever. Disregard any thoughts that may pop into your mind and keep your attention fixed upon this moment for at least 15 minutes. Feel free to stay in this state of mind as long as you want.
Full Body Healing
Lying down or sitting in a chair, begin your mediation by focusing on your big toe. Visualize radiant divine energy shrouding and surrounding it, purifying it from all toxins and negativity. With your mind, imagine white light swirling and encircling your big toe. When you start to feel a tingling sensation, move on to the rest of your toes. Do this exercise for your entire body, going from your legs to your torso and arms, and then your head and shoulders. If you do not feel a tingling sensation, that is OK. The idea is to bring your focus to that specific area. Touch the area with your hand if you find this is helpful to develop your focus. With time, you can then remove your hand and be able to sense with your mind the part of your body on which you are working.
